Rose Demchuk 1924 - 2003

Rose F. Demchuk, 78, 601 21st St. NW, Minot, died Thursday, February 27, 2003, in a Minot foster care home.

Rose was born on April 4, 1924, in Dogden (Butte), ND, the daughter of John and Lena (Koreis) Eisenreich. She was educated and attended country school in the Butte area. At an early age, she worked in Minot where she cared for children and elderly people for several years. She married Mike Demchuk on July 10, 1946, in Montana. They lived and farmed near Kief for over 31 years. Her husband Mike died on May 27, 1976. She moved to Minot in 1978, where she worked at the Shirley Room Café in downtown Minot until her retirement. She continued to live in Minot until the time of her death.

Rose was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot. She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Butte. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, quilting and embroidering in her spare time. She was blessed in her retirement with wonderful neighbors and friends.

Survivors: one sister-in-law, Gladys Eisenrich, Butte, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Mike Demchuk, her parents, John and Lena Eisenreich, three brothers, George, Charles, and Joe Eisenrich, and three sisters, Lena Pilipanko, Theresa Semovolos and Ann Gehring, preceded her in death.

Funeral Service: Monday, March 3, 2003, 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Sunday, March 2, 2003, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Burial: Kief Cemetery, Kief, ND, in the spring of 2003.
