Edward "Ed" Demchuk 1922 - 2002

Edward "Ed" Demchuk, 79, 511 11th St. NE, Minot, died Sunday, May 5, 2002, in a Bismarck hospital.

He was born June 5, 1922, in Kief, ND, the son of Jake and Ann (Kabanuk) Demchuk. He was reared and educated in Kief. He worked for True Ex-Traer and for Anacona Copper Mine. In 1954, he started at Montana Dakota Utilities in Mandan and worked there for one year.

He married Stefina Martin on April 23, 1955, in Mandan, ND. The couple moved to Minot where Ed continued working for Montana Dakota Utilities. He worked there for 29 years retiring in 1985.

Survivors: wife, Stefina, Minot; daughter, Carelyn Anderson and her husband Dale, Des Lacs, ND; sons, Randy Demchuk and his wife Candy, Bismarck and Rick Demchuk and his wife Michelle, Minot; six grandchildren, Melissa and Valari Anderson, Minot, Victoria Ostwald, Devils Lake, Casey Demchuk, Bismarck, and Aimee and Eric Demchuk, Minot; two great-grandchildren, Dustin Anderson, Minot and Brittany Ostwald, Devils Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Minot

Ed loved to fish and hunt.

Funeral Service: Thursday, May 9, 2002, at 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot

Visitation: Wednesday, May 8, 2002 from Noon until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
