Orville D. Danielson 1917 - 2010 Orville Danielson was born April 12, 1917 in Dahlton, Saskatchewan Canada, the son of Hjalmer and Alphine Danielson. He was raised and educated in Dahlton with his family. Orville married Hattie Thirsk June 4, 1941 in Naicam, Sask. Following their marriage they homesteaded in Dahlton for five years and then purchased the general store and post office in Scrip, Saskatchewan in 1946. In April of 1964 they purchased the San Way Ve Motel in Kenmare which they owned and operated until retirement. Orville also managed Motor Service in Kenmare for many years. They continued to live in Kenmare until 2005 when they moved to Minot to an assisted living facility. Orville and Hattie were blessed with 66 years of marriage and three children, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Orville was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed curling for many of his younger years. Orville was also a Master of Masonic Lodge. Those who shared in his life were son, Lorne (Melba) Danielson, Calgary, Alberta Canada; daughters, Joan (Curtis) Gissel, Surrey, ND, and Vivian (Mike) Demaree, Vista, CA; six grandchildren, Lisa (Brent) Harris, Darren (Michelle) Gissel, Trent Danielson, Chandra (Dan) Prevushewski, Ryan Demaree and Michelle Demaree; seven great-grandchildren Blake, Benjamin, Tyler, Hunter, Amy, Alexander and Katlynn; sisters, Norma Thompson, Regina, Sask and Violet Thirsk, Moose Jaw, Sask. Orville was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 year; parents, Hjalmer and Alphine Danielson; brother, Harvey Danielson and sister, Arlene Bicknell. Funeral: Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2:30 pm at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare. Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
