Matt Danielson • 1976- 2005

Matt Danielson, 28, Fargo, and formerly of Minot, ND, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, July 15, 2005, in his home.

Matthew Leon Danielson was born on September 11, 1976, the son of Leon and Kim (Engelhard) Danielson in Minot, North Dakota. He was raised in Carpio and attended Carpio Grade School. He moved to Minot with his family in 1987, and attended Longfellow Elementary School, Erik Ramstad Jr. High, Central Campus, and graduated from Minot High School in 1995. He was a member of the Minot High Magician football, hockey and baseball teams. He was also a member of the DECA program at Minot High.

He then attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, where he had taken classes towards attaining his degree in construction management. Matt had worked for Real Builders in Minot, and most recently at JT Cigarros in Fargo.

Matt enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan. He loved playing sports, and after high school continued to play recreation fast pitch softball. He was a coach for a couple of years for the Fargo South youth hockey program. He also enjoyed visiting with his family and many friends. Matt will be sadly missed by all.

Surviving family includes: father, Leon Danielson, Minot, mother, Kim (Bruce) Bloms, Carpio;
sisters, Noel (Jason) Hall, Loveland, CO; Erin Danielson, Fargo, and Matraca Danielson, Minot; nephew, Bryce Hall, Loveland, CO; paternal grandparents, Maryls and Glenny Danielson, Carpio;
maternal grandmother, Audrey Engelhard, Grano; maternal great-grandmother, Kathryn Wald, Velva;
and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Matt was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elmer Engelhard.

Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, July 21, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Wednesday from Noon until 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and 6 to 7 pm at St. John the Apostle Church, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Wednesday at 7 p.m. at St. John the Apostle, Minot.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred.
