Glendiva "Glenny" Danielson 1932 - 2011 Glendiva M. “Glenny” Flaten was born August 16, 1932 in Carpio, ND, to Lars and Anna (Erickson) Flaten. She was raised and attended school in Carpio, and was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Carpio. Glenny grew up with ten brothers and sisters and was known to be a little mischievous at times. On February 12, 1950, Glenny married Maryls Danielson at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Carpio. Following their marriage they lived a short time in Carpio, Bismarck and Minot, and then moved to the farm northeast of Carpio, where they raised their family. Glenny also helped her husband with the farming operation and always had a big meal ready for family and friends when they would stop by to visit. In later years she enjoyed working at Northern Livestock Exchange and then Behm’s Truckstop as a waitress. Glenny remained active throughout her life and together with her husband Maryls were avid bowlers and bowled for numerous years in the Minot league. They also enjoyed golfing and making an occasional trip to the casino. Glenny was active in quilting at the Carpio Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gathering with friends with the Carpio Birthday Club, and playing Bridge at the Carpio Senior Center. She loved to bake and was a great cook and made some of the best lefse around. Those who shared in her life, Husband of 61 years, Maryls, Carpio; children, Diane Satterlund, West Fargo; Lorraine (Randy) Miller and Leon Danielson, all of Minot; Donna (Randy) Bryans, Carpio, and Dan (Kari) Danielson, Minot; grandchildren, Leslie (Bruce Gustafson) Satterlund, Jaclyn (Kraig) Klebe, Robert Satterlund, Carmen Bloms, Monte (Nikki) Bloms, Jill (Jeremy Brown) Bloms, Stacey Miller, Noel Hall, Erin (Joey) Berg, Matraca Danielson, Tara Bryans, Tracy Bryans, Cody, Shawn, Eric, and Dylan Danielson; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Dolores Anderson and brother, Hilmar “Hilly” Flaten, both of Minot; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Glenny was preceded in death by her grandson, Matt Danielson; her parents; sisters, Astrid Erickson, Bertha Hagen, Thelma Morman and Ruth Flaten; brothers, Lawrence and Sigvart “Sig” and Olaf Flaten. Funeral: Monday, December 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio, ND. Visitation: Sunday, December 11, 2011, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: St. John’s Cemetery, Carpio, ND.
