Signe Dammen • 1934 - 2008 Signe Marie Lee was born August 23, 1934, the daughter of Olaf and Emma (Peterson) Lee on a farm located in Ellsbury Township of Barnes County, North Dakota. She attended grade school in Pillsbury, ND, and high school in Hope, ND, graduating in 1953. Signe married Leland Dammen April 11, 1953, in Finley, ND. They moved to Minot in October of 1954, where together they raised their three children and had lived until her death. She attended Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot. Signe was an avid crocheter of afghans, Victorian Centennial and Gibson Girl Era Barbie Doll dresses. She also had a green thumb and could get anything to grow. Surviving family includes: husband of 54 years, Leland, Minot; daughter, Susan (David) Zietlow, Minot; sons, Michael (Dee Dee) Dammen, Riverdale, ND, and James (Barbara) Dammen, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Desidy (Jason) Rohrer; Mindy, David, Jr., and Adam Zietlow, Paula (Tim) Tuttle, Patti (Josh) Huffman, and Crystal and Nicholas Dammen; step grandchild, Rita Stadler; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Gabrielle Rohrer; and Conner and Skye Huffman; step great-grandchild, Amber Stadler; brother, David (Joan) Lee, Gainsville, TX, sisters, Louise (Phil) Zerface, and Marjorie (Ed) Kainz, both of Hope, ND; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Signe was preceded in death by her parents; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Oline Dammen. Funeral: Thursday, April 10, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at
