David Aaron Dailey 1941 - 2005 David Aaron Dailey, 64, 601 Forest Road, Minot, died Wednesday, November 9, 2005, in a Minot hospital. David was born October 8, 1941, in New Rockford, ND, the son of William Elmer and Esther Margaret (Thompson) Dailey. He moved with his family to Minot at a young age and attended Little Flower Catholic School and Bishop Ryan High School, where he graduated in 1959. In 1960 he entered the United States Marine Corps and served until 1964 when he was honorably discharged. Following his discharge he lived in California for a time. On November 13, 1971 David married Lorraine Foreman at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. Following their marriage they lived in Minot and raised their family. David began employment with the Minot Fire Department in 1971 and continued to work there until his retirement in 2001. David loved his family and he loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed the times he spent hunting and fishing with his boys. He also enjoyed the times spent at their lake cabin at Van Hook. David was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. He was a member of the Minot American Legion and a former member of the Eagle's Aerie. In 1992 David was awarded the North Dakota Safety Council Life Saver Award for saving a young lady from her burning car while off duty. Survivors: Wife, Lorraine, Minot; sons, Jason Dailey and his fiancé, Wendi Meyer, Engelwood, CO, and Steve (Rachel) Dailey, Bozeman, MT; brothers, Jack (Jackie) Dailey, Plymouth, MN, and Roger (Jackie) Dailey, Broken Arrow, OK; sisters, Betty (John) Plum, Littleton, CO, Delores "Dee" Davis, Maple Grove, MN, and Rita (Roger) Norling, Prior Lake, MN; sister-in-law, Lorene Dailey, Minnetonka, MN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. David was preceded in death by his son, Sean Dailey; his parents, William and Esther Dailey; brothers, William "Bill" Dailey, Dan Dailey and Larry Dailey. Funeral: Saturday, November 12, 2005, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation and vigil prayer service: Visitation Friday from noon to 7:00 p.m., with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
