John "Jack" Fenton Cushman Jr. 1931 - 2007

John "Jack" Fenton Cushman Jr., 75, 616 Park St. Minot, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in a Minot hospital.

Jack was born on August 13, 1931, in Minot, ND, the son of Jack and Lucylle (Perry) Cushman. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School. He married Virginia "Jeannie" Fino on June 21, 1953, in Dedham, Massachusetts. They moved to Minot in 1955, where Jack worked for his Dad at Ace Cab Co., and at Gaffney's. He later went to work at the Minot Daily News designing and selling advertising to local businesses. Jeannie died on January 3, 2000.

Jack retired in December of 2003, but continued to do advertising work for I. Keating Furniture World and Ryan GMC in Minot.

Jack served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1953. He was stationed in Boston, MA serving on the USS Leyte Aircraft Carrier. He loved his family and the people in his life. He enjoyed playing softball in his younger years and spending time with his family at Lake Sakakawea.

Survivors: daughters, Dawn (Duane) Luchsinger, Twin Falls, ID, Deb (Cameron) Lee, Hungry Horse, MT and Terri Berger, San Bernardino, CA; grandchildren, Rachel and Jessica Luchsinger, Seattle, WA, Jason Lee Whitefish, MT, Rebecca Ballo, Martin City, MT, Jacob and Brandi Berger, San Bernardino, CA; great-grandchildren, Stormi and Morgan Balla; brother, Bob (Mary) Cushman, Paynesville, MN; sister, Joy (Bob) Soltis, Bellingham, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Jeannie" Cushman, and his parents, Jack and Lucylle Cushman.

Memorial Service: Friday, June 8, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Friends may sign a register book on Thursday, June 7, 2007, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot

Officiant: Deacon Chuck Kramer, St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot
