Doris Golden Cox, 88, Kenmare, formerly of Bowbells, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 in the Kenmare Hospital.

Doris Linstrom was born August 7, 1918, near Coteau, ND to France and Carrie (Hoglund) Linstrom. She was raised and educated in the Coteau area.

On August 18, 1937, Doris married Clive Walter Cox at the Burke County Courthouse in Bowbells, ND. Following their marriage they made their home in Coteau. In 1958 they moved into Bowbells. Doris worked in the kitchen at the Bowbells High School for a number of years. She later worked at the Bowbells Senior Citizens Center as a hostess for 27 years, until her retirement at the age of 81. Her husband Clive passed away in August of 1972. Doris lived in Bowbells until 2003 when she entered the Kenmare Nursing Home.

Doris loved her family and enjoyed being around people. Anyone who knew Doris knew she was a sweet lady and longed for the company of friends and relatives. She was a life-long member and very active in the United Methodist Church in Bowbells and the United Methodist Women's Missionary Society. Doris's favorite job was cleaning churches. She cleaned four churches in the Bowbells area for over 25 years.

Those Who Shared In Her Life: Children, Karen Johnson, Kenmare, Kathy (Ron) Kuzniar, Denver, CO, and Kenny (Debbie) Cox, Niskayuna, NY; four grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Kenneth Walter "KJ" Cox, Jr., Shikira and Shaquille; sisters, Violet Carlson, Kenmare, and Grace Melby, Bowbells; sister-in-law, Lucy (Cox) Abarno, Little Pond, VT; special friends, Bill (Mary) Swafford, Minot: numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Clive W. Cox; sisters, Luella and Gladys Linstrom; brother, Bennie Linstrom, and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Funeral: Saturday, March 10, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Bowbells.

Visitation: Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to service time in the church.

Burial: Bowbells Community Cemetery in the spring of 2007.
