Howard "Bud" Corey III 1947 - 2003

Howard "Bud" Corey III, 55, Bowbells, ND, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, in Bowbells.

He was born November 30, 1947, in Kenmare, ND, the son of Howard and Maybell (Beck) Corey. He graduated from Bowbells High School in 1965, and then attended Bottineau College. On January 11, 1968, Bud joined the United States Army and served in Europe. On December 12, 1969, he was honorably discharged. After his discharge Bud returned to North Dakota and was employed with the State Highway Department in Watford City and New Town. Later Bud was employed with Kleysen Inc. in Northgate, ND, Savage Coal in Bowbells and most recently at General Mills in Northgate.

He was united in marriage to Roxy Anseth on August 16, 1980, at the United Methodist Church, Bowbells.

Bud was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bowbells and the Bowbells American Legion where he had been commander for several years. He was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors: wife, Roxy, Bowbells; sons, Kelly Corey, Bowbells and Michael (Joan) Corey, St. Louis Park, MN; step grandchildren, Ashley and Haley; parents, Howard and Maybell Corey, Bowbells; sister, Sally (Dean) Verstraete, Minot; brother, Ron (Clarice) Corey, Bowbells; nieces, Kristin, Alicia and Joy; several aunts and uncles; mother-in-law, Helen Anseth, Noonan, ND; sisters-in-law, Judy (Joel) Tveter, Center, ND, Paula Helstad, Grand Forks, ND, Stephanie (Mark) Trafford, Northgate; brothers-in-law, Herb (Jane) Anseth, Mohall, ND, and Robert (Cheryl) Anseth, Estevan, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Herb Anseth.

Funeral Service: Thursday, July 24, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. the United Methodist Church, Bowbells.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 23, 2003, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Bowbells.

Burial: Bowbells Community Cemetery, Bowbells.
