Marvin E. Condon 1924 - 2004

Marvin E. Condon, 80, 505-19th St. SW, Minot, ND, died Thursday, November 18, 2004, in a Minot hospital.

Marvin Eldo Condon was born on August 27, 1924, the son of Waine and Minnia (Steffen) Condon in Garrison, North Dakota. He attended schools in Fort Berthold, and Underwood, graduating from Underwood High School in 1942.

Marvin entered the US Navy on June 16, 1944. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific until receiving his honorable discharge on August 16, 1946.

Following his discharge, Marvin attended North Dakota State University, where he received his degree in agriculture.

On February 17, 1952, Marvin married Faith J. Brieher, in Elgin, North Dakota. They made their home in Fargo, Jamestown, Mohall before finally residing in Minot in 1965.

He worked for NDSU for 34 years, retiring in 1986. He was a County Extension Agent in Stutsman, Renville, and Ward Counties. He also served as the NW District Director.

Marvin was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot.

Surviving family includes: wife of 52 years: Faith of Minot;sons: William Condon of Minot; and Robert (Shelley) Condon of Raleigh, NC;daughters: Constance (John) Schutt of Littleton, CO; and Melinda (Paul) Sattler of Cut Bank, MT;grandchildren: Michelle Schutt ,William Botner, Garrett Condon and Seth Condon:brother: Carlyle (Loretta) Condon of Bismarck; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, William Botner, and a sister-in-law, Myrtle Condon.

Funeral: Monday, November 22 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot.

Interment will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND, at a later date.

Visitation: Saturday, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and on Sunday from Noon until 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Vincent United Methodist Church Foundation or to the donor's choice.
