Norman C. Collom 1930 - 2008 Norman was born May 1, 1930 in Craig, Colorado to Clifford and Edna (Chamblin) Collom. He was raised on the family ranch in Wilson Creek, CO, the youngest son of seven children. He graduated from Moffitt County High School and eventually made his way to North Dakota to find work. Norman met Tina Kessler of Minot and they were married on July 2, 1958. Norm worked for Mid-Continent in Williston, ND and was transferred to Kimball, NE, where his son Stuart was born and his daughter Sheri was born in Minot. After Sheri's birth they moved to Minot and Norman worked for Peter Kiewit Construction, Hughes Tool Company, then Minot Builder's Supply for many years and later for Trinity Hospital. Norm loved hunting and fishing when he was growing up and he made many trips back to Colorado to hunt elk and visit his mother and sisters. He retired in 1989, due to ill health problems, but kept busy with his yard and garden. Despite his problems, Norm had a tough time sitting idle for too long and he kept busy helping around the house and working in his garage. He really loved hanging out with his grandson, Kyler and watching television with him. Norman will be sadly missed by his family and friends. May God bless Norman and his family.
