Dennis Cofell • 1942 - 2004 Dennis Cofell, 62, Minot, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, in a Minot hospital. Dennis was born March 21, 1942, in Edgeley, ND, the son of Howard and Lucille (Pruett) Cofell. At a young age he moved with his family to Velva, ND, where he was raised and graduated from Velva High School. He was once married to Vianne Bolgen. They were married on November 9, 1959 in Iowa. In 1959 he began employment at Souris River Telephone in Minot where he worked for 35 years, until his retirement in 1997. He was once married to Deborah Hornbacher, and they were married on March 7, 1981, in Fargo, ND. Dennis was once an active bowler and softball player. He loved camping, reading and playing cards. These last few years he took up golfing, and enjoyed golfing with his son, Chris. Survivors: Children, Kim (Kenneth) Shaw, Surrey, Carri (Trent) Stremick, Langdon, Richard (Michele) Cofell, Missouri Valley, IA, and Christopher Cofell, Minot; eight grandchildren, Benjamin Cofell, Matthew Lien, Eric Shaw, Jennifer Wible, Tahnee, Briana, Justine and Tiffany Stremick; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Swartwout, Collin and Robert Wible; brother-in-law, Verdell Taylor, Fargo; niece, Cheryl Kunkel and nephew, Bill Taylor. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lucille Cofell, and sister, Patricia "Pat" Taylor. Funeral: Thursday, July 22, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at Prairie Peace Fellowship Church, Surrey, ND Visitation: Wednesday, July 21, 2004, from noon to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.
