Helen R. Clouse • 1916 - 2006 Helen R. Clouse, 89, Minot, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at ManorCare Health Services, surrounded by her family. Helen was born November 9, 1916 on the family farm near Foxholm, ND to William and Julia (Haider) Clouse. She was raised in that area and attended school in Foxholm. While growing up she helped on the family farm. She moved to Minot in September of 1948 and was employed at F.W. Woolworths, S and L, Ellison's and later at Ann's Fashions. Helen was a volunteer at the John Moses Hospital, Americana, which later became ManorCare Health Services, St. Joseph's Hospital, Uni-Med Medical Center and St. Joseph's-Trinity. She earned many awards and pins over the years and in 2001 was awarded North Dakota Volunteer of the Year in Mandan, ND. Helen was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliaries. She loved to travel the U.S. and Canada with her family and friends. Survivors: Brother, Martin Clouse, Foxholm; sisters, Mary McCarthy, Selah, WA and Catherine (Harold) Kostenko, Minot; sister-in-law, Evelyn Clouse, Carpio; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, William and Julia Clouse; infant sister, Rosina Clouse; sisters, Theresia Clouse, Anna Boomer and Elizabeth Claypole; brothers, William, Paul, Joseph, Bernard and Francis Clouse. Funeral: Monday, March 13, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Visitation and vigil prayer service: Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m., with the vigil prayer service Sunday at 5:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Monday at 1:00 p.m., at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
