Betty Clayson 1927 - 2008

Betty Clayson, 81, Dunseith, formerly of Minot, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008, in a Dunseith nursing home.

Betty Mae Bergiman was born February 14, 1927, the daughter of Rudolph and Ella (McGuire) Bergiman in Osage, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from St. Leo's High School.

Betty was united in marriage to Donald Clayson July 7, 1951, in Minot, ND. They made their home in Minot, where she was employed by the Minot Public Schools in the cafeteria. She continued to reside in Minot until July of 2003, when she moved into the Dunseith Community Nursing Home. Her husband, Donald passed away October 6, 2004.

She was a founding member of the Minot Retriever Club.

She enjoyed spending time training dogs, knitting and gardening.

Surviving family includes: daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and William Quinn, Alta Loma, CA; grandson, Billy Quinn, Derby, Kansas; sister, Bea Wattam; sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Bill Dunleavy; brother, Owen Bergiman; brother and sister-in-law Elwin and Marilyn Bergiman, all of California; sister-in-law, Doris Piercy, Port Orchard, WA;
Nieces and nephews also survive.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald "Lefty" Clayson.

At Betty's request, no funeral services will be held.

There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register book on Monday, April 7, 2008 from noon to 5 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
