June Clark, 77, Minot, ND, formerly of Bowbells and Glenburn, ND, died Sunday, September 7, 2008, in a Minot nursing home.

Ragnhild June Ardella Aune was born June 14, 1931, a daughter of John O. and Ragnhild (Rotvold) Aune on the Aune family farm located southwest of Battleview, ND. She was raised on the family farm and was educated in Battleview until the sixth grade. She then attended school in Bowbells and graduated from Bowbells High School in 1949.

June married Robert L. "Bob" Clark, Jr., August 12, 1950, in Bowbells. They made their home in Bowbells, where she was employed by the Burke County Treasurers Office. She later became the Deputy Auditor for Burke County and was the first ever Director of Tax Equalization for Burke County. She was also a substitute mail route driver for 12 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bowbells, where she was the Director of the adult and junior choirs, Superintendent of Sunday school and was an officer in the ladies aid group. She was also a member of the Bowbells American Legion Auxiliary, Bowbells Homemakers Club, was a den mother for the cub scouts and served as chairman of the Burke County Heart Fund.

In 1974, they moved to Glenburn where she worked for Roger Backes Insurance and Preskey Welding as their bookkeeper. She was appointed by Governor Link to serve on the Old West Trail Commission. She also worked as a Mary Kay Consultant and served on the Souris Basin Planning Council. She was elected in 1977, as the first female Mayor of Glenburn. She served in this capacity until 1984. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Glenburn, and was a member of its ladies aid.

June and Bob then moved to Minot, where she worked at Team Electronics and then Video Magic as a bookkeeper. She later worked as the Financial Secretary at Christ Lutheran Church for several years until her retirement. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, and its choir and ladies aid.

She enjoyed singing, playing cards, bowling, and snowmobiling. She was an excellent cook and baker, who made many wonderful Scandinavian delicacies, of which she handed down to her daughters. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Her loving family includes: husband of 58 years, Bob, Minot; children, Vickie (Rolf) Aufforth, Bowbells, John (Laurie) Clark, Camp Crook, SD, JoAnn (Ronald) Schepp, Westhope, Jay (Kerry) Clark, Minot, and Bruce (Heidi) Clark, Minot; grandsons, Roelf (Patches) Aufforth, Douglas (Desiree) Clark, Ryan (Lisa) Aufforth, Jonathan Howell, Kyle Hibbs, Matthew Enget, Alex Howell, Daniel Clark, granddaughters, Allison (Jason) Palmer, Robin (Norman) Rosendahl, Kelly (Bob) Potter, Rachel Aufforth, Jennifer Enget, Megan Hibbs, and Taylor Clark; great-grandchildren, R.J., Rylee, and Remington Aufforth, Kristi Medalen, and Taya Aufforth; Brady, Jaelynn, Brenden and Colton Palmer, Breein Nelson, Logan and Skylar Potter, and Mikaela Enget; and Donovan and Dominic Clark; sister, Beatrice (Bert) Wilson; brothers-in-law, Jim (Shirley) Clark, Jack (Barbara) Clark, and Larry (Kathy) Clark, sister-in-law, Dorothy (Duke) Feldkircher; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

June was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ragnhild Aune, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert L. Sr., and Orpha Clark; son, Jerome; grandchildren, Kristi Aufforth and Eric Enget; brothers, Raymond and Erik Aune; and sisters, Olga Moberg and Marvell Jones.

Funeral: Friday, September 12, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment: Friday at 3 pm at Bowbells Cemetery, Bowbells, ND.

Visitation: Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, June's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Minot, the Bowbells Swimming Pool Fund, or to Metigoshe Ministries.
