Lester Raymond Christianson was born November 20, 1925, a son of Morris S. and Ida (Haugen) Christianson, in Glenburn, ND. He was raised and educated in Glenburn, graduating from Glenburn High School in 1943.

Les enlisted in the United States Navy November 23, 1943, at the age of 17. He proudly served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged May 3, 1946.

Les married Pearl L. Thompson June 18, 1950, in Glenburn. They made their home in Glenburn and farmed east of Glenburn. Lester worked as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. Les’s proudest moments were displayed, showing off his numerous complete sets of license plates from 1911 to present. Les and Pearl were avid antique collectors. No auction was ever too far away. One of his more notable accomplishments was the woodwork done in the St. Philomena Catholic Church in Glenburn in 1967.

They resided in the Glenburn area until 1983, when they moved to Lake Metigoshe, and spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona, until 2000, they moved to Garrison, ND, and in 2005, they made Minot, ND, their home. He moved to Sommerset Court in April of 2009, and had spent his final days at ManorCare in Minot.
