Geneva Josephine Christianson
1908- 2006 Geneva was born August 5, 1908 in Jessie, ND, to John and Julia (Thompson) Miller. She grew up in Aneta, ND and as a young adult Geneva moved to Kenmare, ND and worked at the Shef Café and the Irvin Café. Geneva married Edward H. Christianson on November 1, 1928 at the Elmdale Lutheran Church, Niobe, ND. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1978. Edward and Geneva farmed in the rural Niobe area until they retired in 1975. After retirement, they moved to Minot and resided at the Chateau Apartments for 20 years. Edward passed away on October 17, 1985. For the past 11 years, Geneva resided at Edgewood Vista, until moving to her daughter's home in Minot on October 1, 2005. Geneva was an avid card player, lucky at Bingo, and she crocheted an untold number of beautiful doilies. She also baked and decorated Wedding Cakes and had the most delicious wedding cake frosting! While residing in the Kenmare area, Geneva was an active member of the Elmdale Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, and missions. She would frequently recall her opportunity to attend the Homemakers Convention held in Washington, D.C. with guest speaker Norman Vincent Peale as one of the most memorable highlights of her life. She will be missed as mother, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great grandma. God Bless the memory of Geneva J. Christianson.
