Vida Mae Harriet Christenson 1912 - 2004

Vida Mae Harriet Christenson, 92, Velva, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004, in a Velva nursing home.

She was born on January 8, 1912, in New Richland, MN, the daughter of Harry and Agnes (Johnson) Christenson. She moved with her parents to Velva in 1917. She attended Velva Public School and graduated in 1931.

Vida Mae worked with her father at Truax Traer Store, south of Velva and at her families market, Verg's Market in Velva. She entered Souris Valley Care Center on December 7, 1997.

Vida Mae had a love for her family, friends and a special place in her heart for children. She also loved music and singing in the church choir.

She was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Survivors: sister, Eloise Rist, Velva, ND; brother, Virgil (Gloria) Christenson, Fitchburg, MA; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Agnes.

Memorial Service: Saturday, December 18, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Friends may sign a register book one hour prior to the service at the church.

A private family interment will take place.
