Violet Marion Chilson 1932 - 2008 Violet Marion was born November 18th, 1932 at the family home near Max, ND, to Benjamin Peter and Mabel Amanda (Jacobson) Monson. She graduated from Max High School in 1951 and married James Gordon Chilson at Zion Lutheran Church in Max on September 30th, 1956. Violet worked full-time as a devoted mother, raising four sons with James. They were members of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot. James died on August 29, 1988. Violet was an avid bingo player who also loved to work crossword puzzles each day while listening to her favorite, the CNN cable channel. Violet is survived by sons Loren and Lourdes (Subaste) of Tahuya, WA, Blaine and Claire (Olson) of Benedict, ND, Weyland and Toni (Towne) of Moffit, ND, and Merrill Chilson special friend Holly Kantrude of Minot. She also leaves six nieces, one nephew, eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Karen Olson Chilson, Minot. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Lance, Norman, Donald, Harold and Benny, sister Berniece and grandson Gary. The family wishes to thank Dr. Pat Watanaboonyakhet, Manor Care Health Services, Trinity Hospice and Trinity Nursing Home for the care that Violet received over the past five years.
