Miena R. Rasmusson-Charnetzki
• 1916 - 2008 Miena Ruth Iverson was born February 22, 1916 in Crow Foot Township, Mountrail County, ND, the daughter of Math and Josephine (Johnson) Iverson. She was raised and attended country school in that area. On June 30, 1934, Miena married Herman Rasmusson. Following their marriage they lived in Washington State for a time and later moved back to North Dakota. They purchased a farm near Coulee, ND, where they farmed and ranched. Herman died on November 24, 1973. Miena lived on the farm until 1976, when she moved to Kenmare. She married Claudie Charnetzki on December 13, 1990. They made their home in Kenmare. Claudie died on November 2, 2000. Miena moved to Minot in July of 2002 where she since had lived. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Coulee, ND and the ladies aid. Miena loved to quilt and over the years has made several for her family. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. Those who shared in her life, children, Alan (Katie) Rasmusson, Lorna (LeRoy) Johnson, Gary (Barbara) Rasmusson and Dean (Julie) Rasmusson; stepchildren, Claudette (Ron) Nelson, Ernie (Carol) Charnetzki, JoAnn (Gerald "Butch") Nelson, Harold (Sue) Charnetzki and Beverly (Dan) Mason; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Miena was preceded in death by her husbands, Herman Rasmusson and Claudie Charnetzki; grandson, Brad Rasmusson; granddaughter-in-law, Teri Johnson; her parents and brothers, Ingvard, Orville and Melvin Iverson. Funeral: Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Coulee, ND. Visitation: Tuesday, one hour prior to the service in the church.
