Warren Chapman 1916 - 2005 Warren Chapman, 89, Kenmare, ND, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in the Kenmare Hospital. Warren was born on May 26, 1916, the son of Ira and Anna (Arndt) Chapman in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. He was raised in southern Minnesota and Vermillion, SD. At the age of 6, his mother passed away, and because his dad was unable to care for him, he moved to a foster home in Vermillion, to live with Bert and Mabel Jaeger. He assisted them with the operation of the farm. It was in Vermillion that Warren met his childhood sweetheart, Ellen Denison. They were married on September 21, 1941, in Vermillion, where they farmed for the next 10 years. In 1951, they moved to a farm near Donnybrook, ND. In 1952, they moved to Kenmare, where he started his career as a mechanic for Sand Motors, and then Sandvick Motors. They lived in Kenmare until 1967, when they moved to Fargo, ND. He worked as a mechanic at BF Goodrich and Muscatell Chevrolet. He retired in 1980, and they continued to live there until 1990. During this time they wintered in Florida, and traveled to Alaska and Canada. They then moved back to Kenmare and continued to live there until the summer of 1997, when they moved into the Retirement Plaza in Mohall. In 1999, they moved into the Kenmare Baptist Home. Most recently they lived at the Kenmare Community Hospital - Nursing Home since August of 2004. Warren had been a wonderful caregiver for his wife, Ellen, since she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Kenmare, and its men's club. Surviving family includes: wife of 64 years, Ellen, Kenmare; son, Ken (Dianne) Chapman, Kenmare; daughters, Carol Graham (Mike Brue), Alvarado, MN, and Charolette (Art) Wanner, Dickinson, ND; 7 granddaughters; 13 great-grandchildren. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alan, Frank, Edwin, Fredrick, Quentin, and Ross; sister, Eva Fox; and son-in-law, Jim Hembree. Funeral: Monday, November 28, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at
