Violet Ceglowski 1933 - 2010 Violet Emma Hanson was born February 12, 1933, a daughter of Ernest and Alice (Nelson) Hanson, in Kenmare, ND. She was reared and educated in Portal, ND. On December 27, 1948, Vi married Leo A. Ceglowski at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bowbells. They made their home in Portal, where they farmed until their retirement. During this time she also drove school bus for Burke Central School, and had worked for U.S. Customs in Northgate clearing potash trucks. She was the manager of HA and JL Wood Custom Brokers until she retired. In September of 2001, they moved to Minot. Vi and Leo were married for 58 years, prior to Leo’s passing on June 1, 2007. Following her husband’s death, Vi continued to reside in Minot. She was very active with St. John’s Catholic Church in Portal. She served on the Burke County Social Service Board, and was an EMT for the Portal Ambulance for many years. She was currently attending St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Minot. Vi’s hobbies included: golfing at Gateway Cities Golf Club and curling at North Portal Curling Club. Vi’s loving family includes:
son, Dave (Debbie) Ceglowski, Portal; and daughter, Betty Trzpuc,
Minot; grandchildren, Shane (Michelle) Barber, Pamela Ceglowski,
Eric Ceglowski, Shanna (Tim) Welsch and Jeffery (Nichole) Brock;
great-grandchildren, Alissa, Macee, Kaytland, Hayden, and Daylia;
brother, Ernie (Shirley) Hanson, Minot; and several nieces, and
nephews.
