Julius Gustav Carstens
1911 - 2002 Julius Gustav Carstens, 90, Kenmare, died Wednesday, July 25, 2002, at his residence of emphysema. He was born October 18, 1911, in Yellow Medicine County Minnesota the son of Gustav and Clara (Panzenhagen) Carstens. He married Irene Sackreiter on October 15, 1950, in Tolley, ND. He was a life long member Trinity Lutheran Church, Tolley. Survivors: wife, Irene, Kenmare; three sons; Gary Carstens and his wife Katherine and their family, Yonkers, NY, Brent Carstens and his wife Vicki and their family, Billings, MT and Rodney Carstens and his wife Marlene and their family, Winnipeg, Canada; daughter, Priscilla Converse and her husband Mark and their family, Brownsdale, MN; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Alma Carstens, Dora Goetsch and Hertha Thingstad and many nieces and nephews. Julius was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arthur, Emil and Reinhold Carstens, and sisters, Beda and Elsa Carstens, Olga Windberg and Margaret Frederickson. Funeral Service: Monday, July 29, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Tolley. Visitation: Sunday, July 28, 2002, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare.
