Hertha Carpentier 1935 - 2004

Hertha Carpentier, 68, Minot, died Tuesday, February 24, 2004, in a Minot hospital.

Hertha was born on August 21, 1935 to Martin and Louise (Jose) Kastrow on a farmstead north of Zap, ND. She was raised on the farm and attended school there. In her early years she helped her parents on the farm.

She married Erling Fischer and they had three children, Weylin, Agnes and Tim. They were later divorced.

She married Joey Carpentier, December 31, 1976. She was an avid homemaker. Hertha was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Hertha enjoyed traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people. She loved her cats and spoiled them rotten, Cookie and Bugger. She enjoyed planting flowers and trees, gardening, canning, cooking and bingo. She was the best with her German recipes that she kept in her head. To know Hertha was to love her and her spunk for life. She fought to live with a long illness of C.O. P.D and emphysema. Hertha can finally rest in peace. She will be deeply missed by all.

Hertha is survived by husband, Joey Carpentier, Minot; sons, Weylin Fischer and his wife, Beverly, Tampa, Florida and Tim Fischer and his wife, Dee, Wellington, CO; daughters, Agnes Fischer, Bismarck, ND and Sandra Carpentier, Minot. Numerous grandchildren; brothers, Lambert Kastrow and his wife, Alice, Hebron, ND and Elmer Kastrow, New Salem, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Hilbert and Robert Kastrow.

Funeral: The Chapel of the First Lutheran Church, Minot, ND at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2004.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND

Visitation: Friday, from noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND
