Hazel E. Carlson 1925 - 2009 Hazel E. Larson was born April 27, 1925 in Kenmare, ND, to Charles and Sadie (St. Croix) Larson. She was raised in the Norma, ND area, and attended school in Kenmare. Hazel married Arthur K. Carlson, September 7, 1947, in Kenmare, ND. Following their marriage they made their home in Minot, where they raised three sons. Hazel worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penny in Minot for nearly 30 years, until her retirement. Her husband Arthur died August 29, 2008. Hazel was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, where she taught Sunday school. She loved to crochet and bake. Hazel was a loving wife and mother, who was always there for her family. On holidays she would cook and bake everyone's favorite meal or dessert. Hazel always had a smile for everyone and showed an interest in them. She was a wonderful lady that will be deeply missed by those that knew her. Those who shared in her life, sons, Kenneth (Marie) Carlson, Minot, Loren Carlson, Colorado Springs, CO, and Duane (Nhan Tran) Carlson, Minot; grandchildren, Laura (Reed) Schade, Art Carlson, Linda (Derek) Binstock, and Ray Carlson; great-grandchildren, Evan Schade, Jordan Bauer, Kensli, and Kambri Binstock; brothers and sister, Irene Gieser, Clifford (Dolores) Larson and Ramon Larson, all of Minot; and several nieces and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents, Charles and Sadie Larson; brothers and sisters, Russell, Gordon and Norman Carlson and LaValace Clouse. Funeral: Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, ND. Visitation: Monday, September 21, 2009, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND. Officiating Clergy: Rev. Allen Lively Music Honorary Bearers: Hazel's family and friends Active Bearers: Derek Binstock, Art Carlson, Ray Carlson, Ralf Llewellyn, Stuart Larson, Dave Marum Everyone is invited to join the family for lunch and fellowship in the church fellowship hall.
