Doris J. Carlson 1928 - 2008 Doris June Brown was born July 30, 1928 in Minot, ND, the daughter of Frank and Winifred Mae (Jones) Brown. She was raised and educated in Minot. Doris was once married to Arthur Carlson. They were married on March 23, 1946 in Minot. She worked as a cook at Nedrose School for several years. She later owned and operated Doris's Ceramics in Minot for over 15 years, which was a job she truly enjoyed. Doris was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot. She was a member of a local homemakers group and a Christian women's group. She was a member of TOPS in Minot and was State Queen of that organization one year. She loved her pets and had many different kinds. Those who shared in her life, Son, Westlie (Martha) Carlson, Minot; daughters, Wanda Ann (Keith) Woods, Michigan, ND, and Lylia (Lyle) Hoffer, Bismarck; six grandchildren, Paul (Maria) Carlson, Mary (John) Lemke, Michael (Samara) Carlson, Tammy (Mike) Jorgenson, Jayson (Lisa) Hoffer and Nicole (Greg) Fischer; three great-grandchildren and quadruplets on the way; sisters-in-law, Dorolyn Brown and Nana Peterson, both in Minot; numerous nieces and nephews survive. Doris was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Deanna Woods; her parents; brothers, Delbert and Robert Brown. Funeral: Monday, February 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot. Visitation: Sunday, February 24, 2008, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND. Officiant: Rev.
