Verla Jean Cameron • 1926- 2011

Verla Jean Cameron, 85, Bismarck, formerly of Minot, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Missouri Slope Nursing Home in Bismarck, ND.
  
Verla Jean was born on July 15, 1926 in Greene, ND to Victor and Edith (Porter) Cameron.  She moved to Lansford, ND in 1944.  She lived in Lansford until she moved to Minot in 1967.  She was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church in Minot.  Following the death of her parents, she moved to Bismarck, ND in the 1980's.

Verla Jean worked at the family owned grocery store in Lansford until it was sold in 1967.  She was a care giver for her parents in Minot until their deaths, she then moved to Bismarck where she worked at Kirkwood Motor Inn for several years. Verla Jean was very active in Avon, she was an Avon representative for many years.  She became a day care provider in the Bismarck area and this was her true passion.  The children were loved and cherished by Verla Jean.  She thought of each and everyone of them as her own.

Verla Jean loved life and had many friends.  She was loved by many and will be missed by her family and friends.
  
Verla Jean is survived by an aunt, Mabel Paff, Ocean Side, California; nieces and nephews, Jane Prigun, Battle Creek, Michigan, Cecil (Barb) Ramsey, Battle Creek, Michigan, Patricia Ramsey, Battle Creek, Michigan, Bonnie Lopez, Apache Junction, Arizona, David (Linda) Sandeen, Jacksonville, Florida, John (Cindy) Sandeen, Minot, Joel (Nancy) Sandeen, Hutchinson, Minnesota; and many cousins.

Verla Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Edith Cameron; sisters, Lilah (John) Ramsey and Roberta (Edgar) Sandeen, and nephew, Paul Sandeen.

The family would like to thank the dedicated care givers at Missouri Slope Nursing Home, the wonderful staff at Guardian and Protective Services, and her friends and relatives for your many acts of kindness to Verla Jean.

Funeral: Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Visitation:  Thursday one hour prior to the service at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND
