Henry Busch was born to Henry and Mary Busch and was raised on his parents' farm near Lignite and graduated as Valedictorian from Lignite High School in 1939. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Minot State Teachers College in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After returning from the service, he and his brother Francis purchased a farm near Portal, ND.

Henry married Eileen Goven on November 29, 1950, and they lived on the farm until 1966, when they moved to Minot, ND. They continued to farm the land until 1986. In 1972, he was recognized as Burke County Farmer of the Year. They moved from Minot to Ames, IA, and then to Lander, WY, in 2006.

Henry is survived by: his wife (Eileen); five children, Dr. Mary (Wayne) Gregoire of Naperville, IL; Dr. Henry (Lisa) Busch of Faribault, MN; Rita (Mark) Peterson of Lander, WY; Paul (Gail) Busch of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and John of Bellingham, WA; 15 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Agnes Slater, Minot, ND; Mary Pugh, Bottineau, ND; and Leonella McDonald, Elgin, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and four brothers.

Henry was a fourth degree knight of the Knights of Columbus. The funeral was held Thursday February 28, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander, WY, with arrangements by Hudson's Funeral Home, Lander.

Henry will be buried with graveside services in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Bowbells, ND, in the spring, with arrangements by Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Bowbells.
