Alfred L. Burns 1932 - 2010 Alfred Levi Burns was born on May 26, 1932, a son of Willie and Ailsee (Burns) Burns in Brustus, Kentucky. He was raised and educated in the Indiana area. On January 5, 1952, he was united in marriage to Alfa Barrett. To this union, three children were born. They later divorced. On January 24, 1952, Alfred was drafted into the US Army. He proudly served his country, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with three Bronze service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 2, 1953. On November 5, 1965, Alfred was united in marriage to Karen Hanson. With this union, four additional children were added to the family. They made their home in Minot, where Alfred drove truck for 47 years. Alfred loved to fish, golf, woodworking, painting, collecting model cars, taking photos, gardening, cooking and enjoyed country western and blue grass music. Those who shared in his life: Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Asher, Afton and a sister Lois. Visitation: Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 9 until 10:30 am at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Graveside Service: Thursday at 11 am at Rosehill Memorial park, Minot. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, A Veterans Organization or to the donor’s choice.
