Selma L. Buethe 1921 - 2010 Selma was born to Lars and Christine (Sanderson) Stenvold on September 14, 1921 north of Velva, ND. She married Clarence Buethe on December 30th 1941 in Scobey, MT. They farmed in Midwestern North Dakota and later moved to Bell Fourche, SD. In 1957, they relocated to Harvey, ND where they farmed. In 1967, Selma and Clarence moved to Velva, where they made their home until Clarence’s death in 1990. Following his death she continued to live in Velva until 2006 when she moved to Moorhead, MN to be closer to her children. Selma was loved by so many. She had a contagious smile and was known as the “hugger”. She had a passion for bingo and being with friends and family. She loved television and watching animal planet and cooking shows. She enjoyed reading the Enquirer, and insisted everything she read was true! The Buethe family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown to them at this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. Selma is survived by: children, Sharon Noyes, Myron Buethe, Connie (Dennis) Sollid, Vicky(Brian) Ullom, Dorothy “DeDe” (Bob) Guerri, Susan (Greg) Bulyca, Jeannie (Duane Baumgart) Hudson; sisters, June (Don) Streitz, Laura (Ray) Liebelt, Marion Nelson, and Marlys Brockell; sister in law, Delores Stenvold; 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Friday, October 22, 2010, from 3 until 7 pm at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Velva. Funeral Service: Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 10:30 am at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva. Burial: Velva Community Cemetery, Velva, ND at a later date
