Lynn Bryans 1924 - 2009 Lynn Earl Bryans was born October 5, 1924, a son of Victor and Florence (Hansen) Bryans on the family farm, located in Plain Township of Renville County, NE of Carpio, ND. He was raised on the family farm and attended a country school near Carpio and Carpio High School. He then attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton. Lynn enlisted in the United States Army April 1, 1945. He proudly served his country during WWII and was stationed in Louisiana and later Tokyo, Japan. He was honorably discharged November 18, 1946. Lynn married Ruth Tollefsrud November 8, 1947, at the Carpio Lutheran Church Parsonage. They made their home on a farm located in Plain Township of Renville County, NE of Carpio, ND, where he managed and operated the Bryans family farm. Lynn and Ruth recently celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary on November 8, 2008. He was a member the Clarence McCormick American Legion Post # 195, Donnybrook. He enjoyed gardening, especially his potato crops, and helping his neighbors. He loved attending farm auctions and hosting his own as well. Lynn especially enjoyed his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who was thoughtful, caring, and hardworking. Surviving family includes: wife of 61 years, Ruth, Carpio; children, Sandra Erickson, Minot, Linda Gray, Minot, Gary (Jean) Bryans, Minot, and Susan (Harold) Charnetzki, Kenmare; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joyce Bryans, Carpio, and Virginia Lee Bryans, Donnybrook; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, David Gray; two great granddaughters; and brothers, Edward, Dwayne, and Gene. Funeral: Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at 11:00 a.m.
at Carpio Lutheran Church, Carpio.
