Victor "Ed" Edward Bryans 1922 - 2003

Victor "Ed" Edward Bryans, 80, Donnybrook, ND, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, in his home.

Ed was born on October 3, 1922, on the Bryans' Ranch near Grano, ND, to Victor C. and Florence (Hansen) Bryans. He was raised and educated near his home and lived his entire life in Grano and Renville County. On March 17, 1951, he married Virginia-Lee Steinberger in Donnybrook. They lived and operated the family farm in Plain Township, north of Carpio, ND. In 1981, they retired from farming and moved to Donnybrook where they had since lived.

Ed was a farmer by occupation and a genealogist and horticulturist by choice. He was very active in the 4-H organization for 33 years, served as a 4-H leader in Plain Township and an incorporator of the ND 4-H Foundation. He was a founder and past president of the Mouse River Loop Genealogical Society. He was also a director of the Lake County Historical Society and Museum in Kenmare, ND. He enjoyed time spent with his family and community. He loved to travel, sightsee and converse with the many people that he and Virginia-Lee met during their many trips.

Ed is survived by his wife, Virginia-Lee, Donnybrook; three children, Laura Lee (Robert) Rog, Antelope, CA, Victor (Gail) Bryans, West Fargo, ND, and Sarah Ann Bryans, Bismarck, ND; three grandchildren, Natalie (Scott Collins) Rog, Jeanette Rog and Victor Edward III, (Ted) Bryans; two brothers, Lynn (Ruth) Bryans, Carpio, and Gene Bryans, Stanley, ND; one sister-in-law, Joyce Bryans. Several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents, son David, and brother Dwayne Bryans preceded him in death.

Funeral Service: Saturday, April 26, 2003, 3:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Donnybrook, ND.

There will be no visitation. Friends may sign the register prior to the service at the church.
