Fern A. Brunner 1921- 2005 Fern A. Brunner, 83, Minot, died Sunday, May 29, 2005, in a Minot hospital. Fern was born August 24, 1921, in Karlsruhe, ND, the daughter of Lee and Marie (Sorenson) Tyson. She was raised and educated in Bergen, ND. Fern married Edward Brunner on December 12, 1938, in Towner, ND. They made their home in Minot where they raised their family. Edward died on March 22, 2002. Fern was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. She was also a member of St. Winifred's Guild, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Serra Club. She was a member of Roosevelt Elementary and Bishop Ryan High School Parent Teacher Associations. Fern also served as a Girl Scout leader for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She loved gardening, was a good seamstress and a great cook. Survivors: Daughters, Virginia Weber, Jay, NY, Cecelia (Michael) Nilson, Minot, Constance (Ronald) Dial, Lebanon, OR, Susan Embrich, Tucson, AZ, Kathleen (Richard) Johnson, Bartlett, IL, Marietta Zearley and Linda (Vernon) Miller, all of Minot; son, Michael (Bonnie) Brunner, Minot; 19 grandchildren, Donna (Wayne) Ignatuk, Mary Copeland, Michael (Susan) Nilson, Kenneth Nilson, Christine Nilson and fiancée Brad Nelson, and Anthony Nilson and fiance Monica Hall, Michelle (Brandon) Shafer, Robert (Bonnie) Brunner, Randy (Jaimie) Brunner and Ryan Brunner, Rhonda (P.J.) Hermance, Ronnie Dial, Michelle (Michael) Gust, David (Nancy) Embrich and Jennifer Embrich, Annjanette Johnson, Jamie Zearley, Alicia and Jessica Miller; 20 great-grandchildren, Amy, Sarah, Claire and Adele Ignatuk, Emily, Mathew and Jacob Nilson, Aiden and Ian Shafer, Nichole, Kaitlin and Riley Brunner, Joshua, Jennifer and Johnathan Fimreite, Erica Dial, Timothy, Kayla, Daniel and Thomas Gust; sister, Marion Larson, Velva; great-aunt, Esther Larsen; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives survive. Fern was preceded in death by her husband Edward John Brunner; daughter, Rosemay Brunner; her parents, Lee and Marie Tyson; brothers, Ray and Emmit Tyson; and sister, Verla Haun. Funeral: Saturday, June 4, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, ND. Visitation and Vigil Prayer Service: Visitation Friday, from noon to 7:00 p.m., with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.
