Bonnie Brown 1943 - 2007

Bonnie Brown, 64, Minot, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at home following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Bonnie Ann Anderson was born June 16, 1943 in Williston, ND, to Elmer and Anna (Borsheim) Anderson of Wildrose, ND. She was raised on the Anderson homestead south of Wildrose where she attended country school. Following the death of her mother when she was 10 years old, she and her sister were raised by their paternal aunt and her husband, Iona and Richard LaPray.

She graduated from Wildrose High School in 1961. She married Donald Brown on August 10, 1963. To this union three children were born. They were later divorced.

Bonnie worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Berchmans Rioux from 1981 until his retirement in 1997. She then worked at Medical Arts Clinic as a coder from 1997 until 2007 when ill health forced her to go on disability.

Bonnie was an active member of the Bethel Free Lutheran Church of Minot. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of Women's Missionary Federation.

For 16 years, she was on the social and recreation committee for the Companions for Children and was also a board member for them.

Bonnie had a real passion for crocheting. She made over 200 afghans for family, friends, church family, newborns and others.

Those who shared in her life, Daughter, Theresa (David) Windus, Ames, IA; sons, Randy (Michelle) Brown and Warren Brown, all of Minot; granddaughters, Lacey (Ben) Bahr, St. Louis, MO, Amber (Cody) Van Leuven, Kennewick, WA, Megan Brown, Miranda Brown, both of Minot; grandsons, Brandon Windus, Matthew Windus, both of Ames, IA; great-grandson, Bruce Van Leuven, Kennewick, WA; sister, Karen (Gary) Jensen, Velva, ND; cousin, Gary LaPray, Williston, with who she was raised; niece, Donna Jensen, Minot; nephew, Scott Jensen, Voltaire, ND; one uncle, two aunts and several cousins survive.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Anna Anderson and her paternal aunt and uncle, Iona and Richard LaPray.

Funeral: Monday, July 23, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Free Lutheran Church, 530 22nd Ave. NW, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Sunday, July 22, 2007, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and Monday one hour prior to the service in the church.

Burial: Monday at 4:00 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery, Wildrose, ND.
