Bennie Brossart 1914 - 2002 Bennie Brossart, 88, 600 South Main, Minot, died Friday in a Minot nursing home. He was born March 23, 1914, in Pierce County, North Dakota, to John and Cecelia (Schneider) Brossart. He was reared and educated in Pierce County and also worked on his parent's farm. On October 17, 1938, he married Kathryn Feist in Towner. They farmed in Pierce County until 1948 when they moved to Voltaire, ND. They farmed in the Voltaire area until 1997 when they retired and moved to Minot. Bennie moved to Manor Care in June of 2000. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva, St. Josephs Catholic Church, Balfour and St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. Bennie enjoyed animals, farming, fishing, auction sales, playing accordion, singing and nick naming people. In the late 1950's Bennie graduated from Reisch School of Auctioneering in Mason City, IA. A special thanks goes out to the staff at Manor Care for the love and care they provided to our husband, dad and grandfather. Survivors: wife, Kathryn, Minot; sons and daughters-in-law, Bennie J. and Marlys Brossart, Minot, Robert J. and wife Mabel Brossart, Westhope and Ron and Jami Brossart, Bergen; daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Ron Leier, Karlsruhe and Rose Hefter, Grand Forks; daughter-in-law, Vickie Brossart, Grand Forks; 24 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank Brossart, Grand Forks, Joseph Brossart, Rugby, Ned Brossart, Grand Forks and Leo Brossart, Topock, AZ; sisters, Sister Mary Ann Brossart, Valley City, Frances Volk, Towner, Agatha Mattern, Orrin, Cecilia Meier, Milwaukee, WI and Rose Hornstein, Tioga and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald; parents; daughter-in-law, Shirley; brothers, John, Paul and Pius Brossart. Funeral: Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation: Tuesday from noon until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Rosary: Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Velva.
