B. Dawn (Buness) Brenno 1941 - 2010 She was born July 5, 1941, in Powers Lake to Dave and Mildred Buness. After graduating from Powers Lake High School and Minot State University, Dawn taught at Harvey. She married David Brenno, of Columbus, on June 8, 1962, at Bethel Baptist Church in Powers Lake. They lived in Minot and Dawn taught at Sunnyside School. After the birth of their sons, Paris and Paul, Dawn chose to remain at home while the boys were young. Later, she worked as a secretary at First Baptist Church and then as a secretary at Erik Ramstad Middle School for 25 years. She retired in 2006 and continued to substitute at Ramstad as needed. Dawn was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active in many ministries over the years. She loved singing in the church choir and with the Praise Team. She taught Sunday School classes, was a deaconess, a member of the Care Group and served on several committees. She also volunteered in the community, most recently for the Taube Museum Tour of Homes, Norsk Høstfest and After 5 Christian Women’s Club. She also enjoyed her informal get-togethers with members of their pinochle club and her birthday and book clubs. Dawn was preceded in death by her parents. Her immediate family includes her husband, Dave; son Paris, a Minot photographer, and daughter-in-law Mary Beth; son Paul, director of photography/editor in video production; and step-grandchildren, Ashley and Will. Other survivors include sisters Carole Barenthsen and Ardyce Enget, both Powers Lake; Delight Macias, Minot; Sandra Buness, Loveland, Colo; brother and sister-in-law, David and Fay Buness, Helena, Mont; and several nieces and nephews.
