Norma Brekken 1910 - 2004

Norma Brekken, 93, Minot, died Saturday, February 28, 2004, at a Minot nursing home.

Norma was born on December 1, 1910, in Wheaton Township, Bottineau County, ND, the daughter of William E. and Hilma (Ronning) Moody. She was reared and educated in the Wheaton and Antler, ND, areas.

She married Obert Brekken on December 18, 1939, at First Lutheran Church in Minot. After their marriage the couple moved west to Long Beach, CA, where Norma worked as a welder in the shipyards. The couple lived in Long Beach for over 48 years. Obert died on March 1, 1986. After Obert's death Norma moved back to Minot to be close to her family.

She entered Trinity Homes on February 14, 2001.

Survivors: brothers, William "Bill" (Arlene) Moody, Sweet Home, OR, and Wallace Moody, Minot; sisters, Mildred Moody, Minot, and Ruth Keller, Pacifica, CA; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Obert and her parents.

Funeral Service: Today, Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Homes Chapel, Minot.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service.

Burial: Sheyenne Cemetery rural Pekin, ND. Burial be in the spring.
