Mardeth I. Bratvold 1934 - 2005 Mardeth I. Bratvold, 71, 1527 2nd St. SE, Minot, died Saturday, October 29, 2005 in a Minot hospital. Mardeth Spraggins was born on September 23, 1934, the daughter of James and Coleen (Jeffrey) Spraggins, in Minot. She attended grade school in Berthold, and graduated from Maddock High School in 1952. On September 6, 1953, she was united in marriage to Delton Bratvold in Berthold, ND. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in the Maddock for three years before moving to Minot. In 1972, they moved to a home near the South Hill complex, where Mardeth was a very active volunteer. She was known as "grandma" too many of the employees and would often open up her home to the summer events. Mardeth was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, both of Minot. She is survived by: Husband of 52 years, Delton "Bud" Bratvold, Minot; son: Jeffrey Bratvold and his wife Judy, Jacksonville, FL; daughter: Sheila Holden and her husband Steve, Minot; Three grandchildren: Daniel Andersen, Nicholas Holden and Nathan Holden; brothers: Rand Spraggins and his wife Mildred, Stockton, CA; Hugh Spraggins, Bozeman, MT; James Spraggins and his wife Sheila, Sonora, CA; Stacy Spraggins, Lake Havasu City, AZ; sisters: Avon Rock and her husband John, Dayton, OR; Sharon Witter and her husband Richard, Tunkhannock, PA ; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Mardeth was preceded in death by her parents Visitation: There will be no reviewal but friends may sign a register book on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
