Ann Brandt 1926 - 2004

Ann E. Brandt, 78, Upham, ND, died Saturday, October 2, 2004, in her home.

Ann was born January 26, 1926, in Rugby, ND, to William and Myrtle Argabright. She was reared and educated in Barton, ND, and graduated from high school in Willow City, ND, where she later taught rural country school.

She married Alvin Brandt on September 23, 1947, in a country church in rural Willow City, ND. The couple moved to the Thompson Place just east of the J. Clark Salyer Wild Life Refuge when they first where married. They moved the house to the refuge headquarters where they lived many years. In the early 60's Ann went to work as a Teller for the Upham Paying and Receiving Station of the Towner State Bank in Upham, ND. In 1968, the family moved to Upham. While working for the bank Ann was also an agent with Farmers Insurance Exchange. Ann served as the Secretary for the Upham School Board for 21 years and was an active secretary, treasurer, and member for many clubs and organizations in the Upham area.

Ann was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Upham, the Upham American Legion Auxiliary and the Upham Birthday Club. She loved music, traveling, movies, reading, theatre, crossword puzzles and flowers. She will be especially remembered for her wonderful apple pies.

Survivors: sons, Bradford Brandt, Hankinson, ND, David (Esther) Brandt, Eureka, MT, Forest Brandt and fiancée Charlene, Bottineau, ND and Warren Brandt, Christine, ND; daughters, Carol (Dennis) Simenson, Bismarck, ND, and Marilyn (Nathan) Henke, Center, ND; grandchildren, Stephanie Higgins, Carissa, Trevor, Paul, Keith, and Joan Brandt, Brook, Chad, and Jesse Knutson, and Michael, Lindsay, Kristine and Jacob Henke and Alicia and Sean Brandt; great-grandchildren, Camille and Katie Brandt; and brother, Bob Argabright, Bismarck, ND, numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin and her parents.

Funeral Service: Thursday, October 7, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 10 miles west of Upham.

Friends may sign a register book today, Wednesday, October 6, 2004, from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Prayer Service: Today at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Upham, ND.
