Vernon Bradley 1938 - 2006 Vernon was born on October 2, 1938, the son of Harry and Ellen (Peterson) Bradley in Roseglen, ND. In 1949, he moved with his family to the current farm, located near Rice Lake, where he attended school, later graduating from Minot High School in 1957. He enlisted in the United States National Guard in 1960, proudly serving his country, until 1966. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Erickson on July 9, 1965 in Parshall, ND. They made their home on the farm in Douglas, ND, where they raised Registered Polled Herefords. In 1967, Vernon and his brothers began building pole barns for area farmers in the Ryder, Parshall and Plaza areas. In 1972, he began working for Northstar Steel as a concrete worker, where he worked for over 32 years, before retiring for health reasons. He enjoyed working on his 1962 Chevy 2-door hardtop car, as well as fixing anything else that needed work. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. No matter how busy he would be, he would always make time for them. He was a lifetime member of the Polled Hereford Association as well as the Williston American Legion. Those who shared in his life: Wife of 41 years. Marilyn, Douglas, ND; daughters, Melissa (Bob) Roed, Minot, Michele (Greg) Severson, Minot, four grandchildren, Ericka and Casey Roed, Bailey and Brandy Severson, all of Minot; mother, Ellen Bradley, Minot, brothers: Lyle Bradley, Minot, Alvie (Judi) Bradley, Douglas, ND; sisters, Dorothy (Alfred) Walhood, Paulson, MT, Marie (Richard) Bluhm, Granville, ND; mother-in-law, Dorothy Erickson, Plaza; brothers-in-law, Donald (Betty) Erickson, Plaza and Allen Erickson, Bismarck. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father, sister-in-law, Cathy Bradley, nephew Aaron Bluhm and great nephew, Colter Walhood.
