Mary E. Bradley 1914 - 2005

Mary E. Bradley, 90, Minot, formerly of Spencer, IA, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, in a Minot nursing home.

Mary was born on June 25, 1914, in Spencer, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Ethel (Green) Besse. She was reared and educated in Spencer and graduated from Spencer High School in 1932. Mary attended Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland and earned her Bachelors Degree in English in 1936.

After graduation she continued to live in Spencer until 1950, when she moved to Denver, CO, where she worked for the Director of Public Health at Denver General Hospital. In 1957, she moved back to Spencer where she worked in the Clay County Treasures Office. Mary retired in 1976, and continued to live in Spencer until March of 2005, when she moved to Minot to be closer to her son, David.

Mary was a member of the First Congregational Church in Spencer. She was an active volunteer at the Spencer Municipal Hospital and a reader for the Iowa Commission on the Blind.

Survivors: son, David Bradley, Minot, ND; and special friends the William Mehan family.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Spencer, Iowa.
