Sylvia Brackelsberg • 1918 - 2007 Sylvia Gudrun Thon was born on August 31, 1918, in Mohall, ND, the daughter of Swen and Minnie (Christopherson) Thon from Tolley, ND. She was reared and educated in Tolley, graduating from Mohall High School. Sylvia married Lee Raymond Brackelsberg on June 27, 1937 in Oak Park, Ill. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2003 in Salem, Oregon. Sylvia was a wife, mother and grandmother. She loved caring for her family and home. Moving to Southern California early 1940's and moved to Salem Oregon from there. She was a member of the Salem Chapter #162 Order of the Eastern Star. Sylvia and Lee were Past Worthy Matron and Patron of their Masonic Lodge in LaPuente California. They were active members of the Methodist Church. Lee and Sylvia loved boating and even lived aboard their vessel for several years. Sylvia was a gifted seamstress, poet, and homemaker. She loved baking and raising her own garden. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children; son, Raymond Lee Brackelsberg, currently residing in Fullerton CA; daughter, Linda Marie Brackelsberg Coppola, currently residing in Seminole FL; granddaughters, Brenda Marie Trapp, Boynton Beach, FL, Celeste Nadine Genov, St. Petersburg, FL, and Michelle Devorie Lindsey, Clearwater, FL; great-grandchildren, Alec and Nicole Trapp, Boynton Beach, FL, and Evana Sylvia Genov, St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Ida Oberg, Kenmare ND, and Gladys Hughins, Odessa, TX; brother, Iver Thon, Redding, CA. There will be services in Salem, Oregon. |
