Myrtle Brabandt 1919 - 2004

Myrtle Brabandt, 84, rural Granville, died Thursday, October 14, 2004 in her home.

Myrtle was born November 19, 1919 in Simcoe, ND, the daughter of Emil and Stella (Anfinson) Julson. She attended Walters School #2, a country school, and graduated from Granville High School in 1938.

Myrtle married Harold Brabandt on September 28, 1940 in Velva, ND. They lived on the Burtchett farm until 1948 when they moved to their current farm located three and a half miles south of Granville.
Myrtle was very active in church and school activities. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an avid quilter, and enjoyed doing cross-stitch. Myrtle always had the coffee pot on and no one ever went hungry at her house.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Senior Citizens and First Lutheran Women of ELCA, all of Granville.

She is survived by: husband of 64 years, Harold, Granville, ND; Sons: Dale (Joan) Brabandt, Underwood: Roger (Juell) Brabandt, Minot; Daughter: Jenell (Howard) Brabandt Loftesnes, Bismarck, ND; six Grandchildren: Todd Brabandt, Brett Loftesnes, Ann Loftesnes, Reese Brabandt, Len Brabandt, Tory Brabandt; Five Great Grandchildren: Paige Brabandt, Hunter Brabandt, Aaron Loftesnes, Emma Loftesness, Finn Loftesnes; Brothers: Tilford (Marjie) Julson, Minot, Vernon (Vonnie) Julson, Key West, FL. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents.

Funeral: Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. First Lutheran Church, Granville, ND.

Visitation: Monday, October 18, 2004 from noon until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Burial: Granville Community Cemetery, Granville, ND

Memorials are preferred to Granville Cemetery Fund or First Lutheran Church, Granville
