Harold Brabandt 1915- 2006 Harold was born on December 5, 1915, the son of Henry and Ingeborg (Berg) Brabandt, on the family farm near Granville. He was reared and educated in the Granville area. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in the fall of 1935, working on projects near Foxholm, ND. On September 28, 1940, Harold was united in marriage to Myrtle Julson in Velva, ND. They lived on the Burtchett farm until 1948, when they moved to their current farm located three and a half miles south of Granville. On the farm they raised small grains and cattle, before retiring in 1980. Myrtle died October 14, 2004. Harold continued to live on the farm following her death, until entering Trinity Homes in May of 2006. Harold was not only a farmer; he was the neighborhood mechanic. He understood machinery, seldom needing a manual to diagnose and fix a problem. He enjoyed music, teaching himself to play a fiddle he received from his sister, Berget. He was also the proud owner of a Hardanger fiddle that he purchased while on a trip to Norway in 1983. Harold was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizens, both of Granville. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
