Lorraine Irene Bossert 1946 - 2006

Lorraine Irene Bossert, 59, Velva, died Thursday, January 12, 2006, in a Rochester, MN, hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on March 28, 1946, at Minot, a daughter of Anthony and Bertha (Klein) Feist. She was raised at Simcoe and attended Simcoe country schools and graduated from Velva High School. She became employed as a secretary in the office of the McHenry County Extension Service at Towner.

She married Dennis Bossert Jan. 8, 1966, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe, where they made their home with their family. She worked as a secretary at the Karlsruhe Public School for a number of years. She later became assistant postmaster at Karlsruhe. She also worked as the Karlsruhe city auditor until retiring. She and her husband moved to Velva in December of 1999.
She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church at Velva and a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was active with the Christian Mothers.

Lorraine's grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she took great delight in spoiling them. She enjoyed shopping, bowling, quilting, cooking and gardening, with a special love for flowers.

Survivors: husband, Dennis, Velva; children, Garrett Bossert, Velva, Greg Bossert, Fargo, Tania (Matthew) Balis, Minot, Nicole (Jon) Birnbaum and Grant Bossert, all of Fargo; grandchildren, Mattison and Luke Balas and Ethan Birnbaum; mother, Bertha Feist, Minot; brothers, Tony (Sue) Feist, Fort Collins, CO, Richard (Marlene) Feist, Post Falls, ID, Mark (Judy) Feist, Fargo, Brian Feist, Nazareth, PA, and Dan (Karla) Feist, Minot. She was preceded in death by her father, Tony, and her grandparents.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, January 17, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Velva.

Visitation: Monday, January 16, 2006, from noon until 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, with at vigil prayer service at 7 p.m.

Burial: Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe.

Memorials are preferred to the Mary Brigh Unit at St. Mary's Hospital, 222 First St, SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
