Edwin R. Bossert 1933 - 2003

Edwin R. Bossert, 70, 212 East Central Avenue, Minot, died Sunday, September 21, 2003 in a Minot hospital.

Edwin was born January 21, 1933 in Karlsruhe, ND, a son of Math and Margaret (Klein) Bossert. He was raised and educated on the farm near Karlsruhe. In the 1950's he moved to the State School for the Handicapped at Grafton, ND, where he worked on their farm. In 1984, after the state established group homes, he elected to come to Minot and lived in a group home and was employed in janitorial services at the Minot Vocational Adjustment Workshop. Later in his life he had his own apartment where he had several parakeets, as he loved birds and took very good care of them. He also loved to take long walks and enjoyed going to the Second Story Club and also the Parker Senior Center.

Surviving family includes his sisters Mary Keller, Karlsruhe, ND, Regina Wyszkowski, Milwaukee, WI, Catherine Gefroh, West Linn, OR, Rose Anne Senger and Beata Berndt, Portland, OR, Margaret Franta, Hermitage, MO, and Theresa Willey, Casper, WY; brothers Edward Bossert, Karlsruhe, ND, Leo Bossert, Eugene, OR and Aloysius Bossert, Garrison, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Friday, September 26, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo's Roman Catholic Church, Minot, ND.

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Thursday, September 25, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Graveside Services: Friday, September 26, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe, ND.

Memorials are preeferred to the Minot Vocational Adjustment Workshop or the American Cancer Society.
