Evelyn E. Bone 1917- 2011 Shortly after his discharge they moved to Minot where he went to work as city editor at The Minot Daily News. He held other posts at The News, working there until his retirement in 1978. Evelyn was a stay-at-home mother while their two children were growing up. She later worked as a District Court bailiff in Minot. She attended Zion Lutheran Church and the church women’s group in Minot. She also was a member of the AV Chapter of PEO. For a number of years, she and Jack, and their close Minot friends, the Ilvedsons, the Malms and the Lowes, vacationed in San Clemente, CA. They regarded those trips as remarkable in that they got along so well in their togetherness, all of them staying in one condominum. They played golf, they played bridge, and they enjoyed the stretch away from the North Dakota winter. The Bones lived in a house on Ninth Avenue Southeast in Minot, a house that now is the home of their daughter Nancy Armstrong and her husband Gary. In recent years, following the death of her husband in 2002, Evelyn had been a resident of Trinity Homes in Minot. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Armstrong and her husband Gary, Minot; a son, Jack Bone and his wife Sue, Canyonville, OR; three grandchildren, Seth Bone, Heath (Joan) Bone, and Sheila (Justin) Clark; four great-grandchildren, Andrew and Ellie Bone, Brianna and Jimmie Clark. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Armstrong, and brothers, Harry and John Higgins. Reviewal and visitation will be Friday, June 17, 2011, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
