John Boe 1913 - 2003
John Boe, 89, 438 17th St. NW, Minot, died Wednesday, July
2, 2003 at his residence.
John Boe was born on October 12, 1913 in Kenmare, ND, the son
of Jorgan and Mabel Boe. He was raised and educated in the Kenmare
area. On September 25, 1935, he married Alma LaCaille in Bottineau.
Following their marriage they made their home in Kenmare until
moving to Minot in the early 1940's.
While living in Minot he worked for Singer Sewing Machine, Culligan
Soft
Water, Cloverdale Foods and KQDY Radio. He was also a lay preacher
at the Carrington Church of the Brethren. They then moved to
Bismarck where he worked for the Burleigh County Sheriff's Department
as a jailer. He
advanced to Captain. He retired in 1982. He was a member of the
ND Peace Officers Association. They continued to live in Bismarck
until moving back to Minot in 1993. In 1995 they celebrated their
60th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Boe was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Minot.
Survivors: Three sons, John LeRoy, Enid, OK, Terence
(Terry) Minot,
Gerald (Gerry) San Antonio, TX, One daughter Audrey Steuck, Moorhead,
MN.
13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild,
two
sisters Irene (Alvin) Burcham, Sterling, AK, Helen (Francis)
Mary, Salem,
OR, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Alma, son Dennis, two
sisters, Jennie
Lang and Rachel Cole, grandson Jeffrey Steuck.
Funeral: Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 10:30 am in Faith
United Methodist Church, Minot.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Cemetery
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
