Michael Boehm PhotoMichael Boehm, 84, Minot, ND, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, in his home.

Michael was born January 21, 1926, a son of John and Frances (Erck) Boehm, in Karlsruhe, ND.  He was raised and educated in Karlsruhe and as a young adult, assisted his father with the operation of the family farm.

Michael enlisted in the United States Army April 27, 1944. He proudly served his country during WWII and was awarded the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Army of Occupation Medal. He was honorably discharged April 30, 1946.

Michael married Eleanor Schatz June 13, 1950, in Drake, ND. They made their home on a farm in the Balfour/Butte area. They farmed until 1960, when they moved to Minot. Michael was a civil service employee, working in mechanics and as a trainer at the Minot Air Force Base. He worked there until retirement in 1993.

He enjoyed anytime he spent with his family, fishing, camping, and automotive work.

Surviving family includes:  wife of 59 years, Eleanor, Minot; sons, Ron (Deb) Boehm, West Fargo, and Harlan (Dawn) Boehm, Minot; daughters, Carmie Boehm, Bismarck, and Anita (Bill) Brown, Grand Prairie, TX; grandchildren, Melissa (Matt) Waind, Megan (Bill) DeNovio, Landry Boehm, Chandler Boehm, Kylie Bullinger and Tayte Bullinger; great-grandchildren, Dreyden Waind;
brothers, Al (Irene) Boehm, Minot, and Leo (Sue) Boehm, Eugene, OR; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; John and Frances Boehm; and brothers, Joe, Rudy, and Eugene Boehm.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, March 12, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment:
  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: 
Thursday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service
: Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

: In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Trinity Hospice.
